The Army Ground Forces Rock Band, The Loose Cannons, Entertain at the 4th of July Fireworks and Fun Day

Next weekend we will celebrate Independence Day. There will be lots of activities involving our families and communities. Picnics, cookouts, watermelons, and fireworks are all apart of the celebration. And all of that is great!

The first $250 payments to veterans as part of President Obama's recovery plan were sent Monday, and officials at the Department of Veterans Affairs said all payments will be distributed by June 30. year’s Independence Day Celebration Day in Franklin is shaping up to be the most patriotic and exciting ever. The day will begin with the long anticipated dedication of the Veteran’s Memorial located behind the Macon County Community Building, US 441 South of Franklin. The dedication will take place at 11:30 a.m. The memorial is being dedicated in memory of those who lost their lives defending our country and in honor of those who have served and those who continue to serve today. Over 500 honor bricks have been sold and will be available at the park that day. The US Flag being used on this special day has flown over Arlington National Cemetery.
It is an honor to announce the Army Ground Forces Rock Band, The Loose Cannons, will perform at this year’s 4th of July Fireworks and Fun Day at the Macon County Veterans Memorial Recreation Park at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 4.

OK... so I woke up between 5:30-5:45 am on June 30th. I always look out of my bedroom window in the AM to see if there's deer or other wildlife. Looking southeast, up high and over the mountains I see an oval object. It had white lights all around it and sometimes flashed.
I stayed and watched for a good 15 minutes while it did not move! I (more...)
